Oral Hygiene consultation aims to prevent oral cavity diseases.
Proper Oral Hygiene and regular visits to the Dentist (at least twice a year) promote Oral Health and early diagnosis of potential oral pathologies. Teaching the correct brushing technique is crucial for maintaining a healthy smile.
During the Oral Hygiene consultation, a diagnosis is made to screen for caries and gum diseases, and an Orthopantomography (X-ray) may be performed, allowing the Dentist to diagnose pathologies more accurately. Additionally, tartar and bacterial plaque that may develop, especially in areas difficult for the patient to access, are removed through scaling (cleanings) and root planing. Other treatments performed during this consultation include the application of fissure sealants in children, fluoride application, among others.
